When I was a kid back in the mid 1980s, I got this game. The graphics were excellent for a home system and almost replicated the original arcade game. However, for some reason, the third tune of the ColecoVision version (when the cats are moving very fast and the score was around the mid 90,000s) always gave me nightmares-I found that tune so haunting with its eerie vibrato, dissonance and repetitiveness-to the point that I had to stop playing this game for a very long time. Now that I am in my early 50s, I have rediscovered both the original and the ColecVision versions and now I do play them regularly. In the ColecoVision version, the background music repeats over and over and over nonstop, and the second and third tunes are one octave higher than in the original game. In both versions, the first tunes are identical. However, in the arcade version the background music plays only for the first 30 seconds of the round and then stops until a new round starts or the mouse is killed.
